Holly Brown - Week One in Hong Kong

So the first week of working here in Hong Kong has been very busy! The aim was to create stock imagery for the cafe Holly Brown.

We started with photographing some colourful looking cup cakes..

followed by a very HOT day shooting in the Tai Po Water front gardens with six very cute children and melting gelato - not to mention dozens of hungry mosquitos!

Next more shots of delicious gelato in waffle cups for the menu...

then coffee, roasted and created by the experts...

We then worked all of this imagery into grids for the walls of the cafe which I will show you images of once they have been installed. The beauty of working in a cafe that specialises in coffee and gelato is that you get to sample both as often as you like - SO YUMMY! The illustrations I created are at the framers as we speak so Ill post them once they have been installed. The opening is set for the 9th July 2010. So If you are near Stanley St, Central, Hong kong this friday do come on by and enjoy the grand opening!

Monsoon Moments

So we have touched down in Hong Kong and are stuck once again with the sweet dusty smells, patterns and neon shapes in the buildings towering over us. Hong Kong is in its monsoon season at present so it's very warm, VERY muggy and full of umbrellas! We are here to work on the launch of a brand new cafe called Holly Brown. I have spent the last month or so creating illustrated artwork for the walls and now we are here to complete some photography for the project as well. Holly Brown is the happy place where the artistry of coffee meets the craftsmanship of gelato. The cafe is still being fitted out so there is a lot of construction going on all over the place. This week I will be shooting a lot of gelato, cup cakes and coffee which should be fun and perhaps tasty!  I have met some great people involved in the project who have come from all parts of the world - Australia, South Africa, Tawain -  looking forward to working with them all.

Hong Kong Here we come...

Ive been a bit slack on the blogging side of things lately as I have been busy working on a very exciting project which involves two of my great loves - illustration and photography! One of those awesome opportunities you only dream about! Can't really believe it's happening but today I head to Hong Kong to par-take in an awesome adventure - of which I hope to blog more about each day... stay tuned and ill tell you all about it!!!
